Our Team

Mark Conrad - President

Mark has extensive experience in managing a number of businesses over the past 20 years and partnered with Greg as a subcontractor while managing his paint company. In 2023 Mark became the owner. To honour the legacy Greg Scharr and his team had built, Mark changed the name to Schnarr Legacy Craftsmen.

Mark’s values and managing style are well aligned with the company's original core values. This commitment has allowed SLC to continue to grow.

His passion for the home renovation and construction industry has led Mark to be a part of the Conestoga School of Trades Program Advisory Committee and has become a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

Mark has a wonderful family support system consisting of a blended family with his partner and 6 children. He loves to play guitar, sports and stay involved in the community.

Shaun Linder - Carpenter

Shaun is committed to the quality and precision of his work and all aspects of your project based on his 20 years of craftsmanship in the industry. He takes immense pride in his work and is a great support to the team. He is an avid motorcyclist and enjoys the outdoors.

Peter Twynstra - Site Foreman, Carpenter

We were lucky enough to find Peter in 2001 working as a leasing salesman at a local car dealer. He had recently relocated to Waterloo and thought he would try something different. Turns out, he is very good at, and loves, what he does too much. Peter spent many years perfecting his craft as a custom home builder in Grand Bend before his wife was transferred to Waterloo. Because of his experience as a builder, he is comfortable and skilled at all aspects of our jobs.

Pedro Aguiar - SLC Carpenter Apprentice

Pedro grew up with a passion for carpentry. He attended Conestoga College and earned a diploma in Carpentry and Renovations. He joined the Schnarr Legacy Craftsmen team in May of 2023 and is eager to continue his apprenticeship towards his Red Seal.

Greg Hackbart - Site Foreman, Carpenter

Greg brought his many talents to Schnarr Craftsmen in 2013. He is equally efficient doing trimwork or capping windows with aluminum. He has recently been doing a very good job installing ceramic tiles. He has two young children that keep him busy but loves to go fishing in his spare time.

Greg Schnarr - Consultant

Greg founded Schnarr Craftsmen in 1984. In 2023, he retired, enabling him to spend more time with his children, grandchildren and golf. His current position as an occasional consultant allows him to stay connected with the industry as well as long-time customers while continuing to share his expertise with the growing Schnarr Legacy Craftsmen.
